Undoubtedly, the most effective way to illuminate today is the LED.

When compared to older lighting technologies such as incandescent lamps, halogens and CFLs, we see that LED is by far the most energy efficient and in many other respects the best solution.

What is LED?

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are a type of electronic light source. LEDs differ from conventional light sources such as incandescent and halogen lamps. They last much longer, consume much less energy and produce very little heat. They are very durable and do not contain fragile elements such as glass tubes or filaments; they are also safer because they do not contain mercury, lead or other harmful substances. LED bulbs are available in most common luminaries, including the GU10, G9, E27 and E14 sockets.

How much energy do LEDs consume?

LED bulbs consume up to 90% less power than a similar standard or halogen bulb with the same brightness. LEDs are much more efficient in converting electricity to light in watts, measured in lumens. As such, a typical 4-watt LED bulb can easily achieve a luminous power similar to a 50-watt halogen due to its high lumen / watt ratio.

How much money will you save on switching to LEDs?

Replacing four standard bulbs with LED bulbs can save you up to HUF 8-20,000 (using the bulbs for an average of four hours a day). The cost of new LED bulbs will thus pay off very soon. In addition, since LED bulbs last much longer than old-fashioned bulbs, you can save that amount over and over again.

Long life - How long do LEDs last?

One of the biggest benefits of using LEDs is their outstanding service life thanks to its highly efficient heat treatment. LED bulbs are able to remove heat through the heat sinks to extend the life of the bulb while slowing down the depreciation of the luminous flux. A well-built LED with good heat treatment can run for up to 25-30,000 hours. Avide LED bulbs are tested over thousands of use cycles to achieve the highest quality.

How much are the LEDs lit?

The luminosity of a bulb is measured in lumens (Lm), the higher the number of lumens, the brighter the bulb. Despite using very low power, LEDs emit the same brightness as traditional light sources.

Are LEDs Safe?

Yes. Unlike CFLs, LEDs do not contain mercury. In addition, they release relatively little heat and are safe to use after extended use. The lack of inner glass parts also reduces the likelihood of breaking so you don't have to worry about breaking the glass.

Why is the LED bulb environmentally friendly?

The use of LED lights reduces carbon dioxide emissions. By replacing your old incandescent bulb or CFL bulb with LEDs, you can essentially reduce the amount of harmful CO2 in the air. The reason is that LED lights consume less energy, which power plants produce by burning fossil fuels and oil. The less energy these plants need to burn through fuel combustion, the lower their carbon dioxide emissions. LED lamps do not waste energy. The incandescent lamp consumes a large amount of energy but gives only minimal brightness. Where's the excess energy going? The excess energy is converted into heat and released into the environment. Excess energy is wasteful energy. LED lamps do not contain harmful metals. Lead and mercury are considered to be the most toxic heavy metals in the world. The halogen, bulb and compact light sources contain these heavy metals. By disposing these bulbs in landfills, their lead and mercury content may leak and mix with the water source or with the air we breathe in as vapor. On the other hand, LEDs do not contain these harmful metals.

What types of LED bulbs are there?

Fortunately, LED bulbs are available to replace most sockets, shapes and sizes, so there's always a good Avide LED for you. We store all types of LED bulbs, including standard spheres, candles, spotlights, reflectors, reflectors and fluorescent lamps.

Will LED bulbs work on my existing devices?

Yes, all Avide LED bulbs are made to be perfectly compatible with existing luminaires. But please make sure that the products you purchase for special locations (built-in lamps, bathroom cabinets, etc.) are fire or waterproof and have the appropriate IP rating.

Are LED bulbs dimmable?

Avide LEDs offer a variety of dimmable products. Whether or not a LED light source is dimmable is always indicated on the box.
